Magnetic Lashes

Let me tell you a bit about my eyelash journey. I discovered the magic of false lashes many many years ago when I picked up some Ardell Demi Wispies from CVS. I had no idea how to apply them but I was determined to figure it out. The road to lash security was long and arduous. There were many flights that I’m sure I looked absolutely crazy. I hope there aren’t any pictures. A good friend of mine had great success with Latisse and gave me a box as a birthday present. I was never consistent enough to notice any results. The last thing I want is another chore to do before bedtime. Then one day I sat at a lunch counter gawking at the server's lashes. I couldn’t figure out if they were real or fake. I squinted to try and find a lash band but it was undetectable. When I finally asked her about them, she told me they were lash extensions and shared her lash tech’s contact information with me. I swiftly made an appointment and wore them religiously for a year until I became allergic to the adhesive. This unfortunate situation made me revisit strip lashes. All the hot girls were wearing Miami lashes by Lilly Lashes. The company had a sale that I couldn’t resist so I tried them and fell in love. I was completely sold. I’d perfected lash application and wore them for a couple of years until I began developing an allergy to that lash glue too. I’d heard of magnetic lashes before and was always curious about them but not curious enough to actually purchase them.

Glamnetic Lashes

Imagine my excitement when a magnetic lash company called Glamnetic reached out to me and sent me a few boxes of their lashes along with the magnetic liner and applicator. I was thrilled to try them. The lash styles they sent were very similar to the strip styles that I wear so the big question was - WILL THEY ACTUALLY WORK?

Lash Styles

They sent me a natural lash style called Livin, a more glam style lash called Lavish, the SOO Future! Magnetic Liner Pen and the Lash Grab applicator. The natural style (Livin) is a great style for a “no makeup” look, at least for me. My natural lashes don’t grow very long anymore. I’m not sure if it’s because of my lash extensions or just because of aging but I swear they don’t grow like they used to. The Livin lash looks like natural lashes with a good coat or two of mascara. I adore the Lavish style lash. It gives just the right amount of glam without going overboard. I’d wear that style anywhere, day or night. Still, the question remains…do they work?

The first lash I tried on was the Livin lash. That went on super easily! I had a little trouble with it lifting from the inner corner after a while however, I think that is because I did not line my lid all the way to the inner corner. I was excited though to see that it went on so easily. This could potentially save me time in the morning when I have to be on a hotel van at 5:30am.

I tried Lavish on the other eye and that’s where things went a bit awry for me. For some reason, that lash did not want to stay in place. I’ll admit that I struggled to get the lash on. I suspect that I did not apply enough of the magnetic liner on the lid for the lash band to be secured in place. It finally worked after I increased the thickness of the magnetic eyeliner. The secret to magnetic lashes is to make the eyeliner as thick, if not thicker than the band of the lash style you’re applying. The liner pen that was sent to me seemed to be a little dry after the first application. I don’t know if it was just that pen or if that is a problem consistent with that product however I will say that I also have an eyeliner adhesive pen for my traditional strip lashes that does not work as well as the traditional brush-on liquid glue. I suspect that the brush-on magnetic adhesive would not have given me the trouble that the pen did but I cannot say definitively because I do not have that product.

Final Verdict

In conclusion, I love the idea of magnetic lashes. I will definitely continue to use them in hopes that I am not allergic to them. It remains to be seen whether they will stay on after a full day of flying as I am still grounded from shoulder surgery. I can say that I have worn them successfully for several hours while filming content for my TikTok and Instagram pages. I have a dedicated YouTube video up on my channel about them. I am SoniaStayFly across all of those platforms. Let me know what other beauty products you think I should try!
