Vacation in Greece
I never used to travel in the summertime because it’s high season at the airline. I’ve always chosen to secure the bag and stack my coins. Last summer changed everything. We were so starved for a getaway after quarantine that we decided to book a trip to Greece in August 2021. We chose Greece because it was one of the first countries to open to tourists. Most of the trip would be enjoyed outdoors therefore we wouldn’t need to wear a mask. Quarantine was not a requirement for vaccinated tourists so we packed our bags and went. I’m beginning to plan our next summer vacation and realized that I never really posted much about our last vacation aside from a couple of room tours on TikTok and Instagram. I finally edited an entire vlog about it that is posted on YouTube. Keep reading for a detailed itinerary.
Magnetic Lashes
Let me tell you a bit about my eyelash journey. I discovered the magic of false lashes many many years ago when I picked up some Ardell Demi Wispies from CVS. I had no idea how to apply them but I was determined to figure it out. I’d heard of magnetic lashes before and was always curious about them but not curious enough to actually purchase them. Imagine my excitement when a magnetic lash company called Glamnetic reached out to me and sent me a few boxes of their lashes along with the magnetic liner and applicator. I was thrilled to try them. The lash styles they sent were very similar to the strip styles that I wear so the big question was - WILL THEY ACTUALLY WORK?
Ready or Not - February is Here!
Do you know the origins or the objective of BHM? It was the brainchild of Dr. Carter G. Woodson, a prominent, Harvard educated, historian, author, and journalist that is often described as the “father of black history”. It began as Black History Week in February 1926. He states,
“It is not so much a Negro History Week as it is a History Week. We should emphasise not Negro History, but the Negro in History. What we need is not a history of selected races or nations, but the history of the world void of national bias, race hatred and religious prejudice”.
It was the black students and educators of Kent State University that celebrated it for the entire month. Finally, President Gerald Ford in 1976 officially marked February as Black History Month.
Hello 2022!
Happy 2022!
I hope you had a wonderful holiday season. I’m writing this on Monday, January 17, MLK Day. I haven’t been inspired to write much lately so I figured that my first blog post of 2022 should be a brief synopsis of what’s going on currently in my life.
Flight Attendant Schedules
I made a TikTok several weeks ago calling on the holy spirit to activate (a trending sound over there at the time) while I submitted my bid for Thanksgiving off. It was brought to my attention that most people do not know how flight attendant schedules work so I’m going to enlighten you.
The Magic of Christmas
I am a Christmas fanatic! I have such fond memories of spending Christmas day at grandma’s with a house full of family and friends, good food, good music and of course, the presents! My grandparents always hosted anyone and everyone that wanted a spot at the dinner table. The house was always decked out and I loved it as a kid.
Fast forward to adulthood - even though I’ve moved away from my family, I wanted to recreate that magic for my own son. I’ve been hosting Christmas for several years now so I’d like to share a bit of what I’ve learned along the way.
Sephora Sale Strategy
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! The Sephora Semi Annual Sale!
Don’t just shop all willy nilly. You MUST plan & strategize - unless of course you got it like that. The thing about Sephora is that it’s very easy to Add to Cart haphazardly until you go to checkout and you’re up to $1k. That’s why I always plan before I shop this sale. Here’s my strategy.
5 Holiday Travel Tips from a Flight Attendant
The holidays are here again! Thanksgiving week is always the busiest time of year to travel around the US. Everyone wants some of nana’s “greens, beans, potatoes, tomatoes, lamb, rams, hogs, dogs...YOU NAME IT!” If you didn’t read that in your Shirley Caesar voice, we can’t be friends.
If you are traveling by air, pack your patience because your flight will be full! Btw, please don’t ask your flight attendants if the flight is full. Of course it is! Here are 5 tips to survive holiday travel. I could go on and on about it but I’ll narrow it down to just 5.
Intro Blog - A Bit About Me!
Hey hey hey! I started this blog about a year ago and am just now getting around to posting something…tsk tsk tsk! I guess my hesitation stemmed from not knowing where to start so I guess I’ll just start from the beginning with a brief introduction.
